NEW Programs

If you are familiar with the programs offered in Positively Healthy magazine, or if you are looking for some new programs to try, check out the Positively Healthy +more program supplement. Six additional, never-before-offered exercise, cooking and training courses have been added to our fall schedule to give you more options for enhancing your personal wellness.

Program registration opens Thursday, August 20th at 6am.

Notice to Online Registrants

Online registration for our fall programs will not be available when registration opens at 6:00 am on Thursday, August 20th due to technical problems. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working to remedy the problem as soon as possible. In the meantime, please register by phone at 632-3900 or in person at 1075 Leila Avenue for fall programs advertised in Positively Healthy magazine.

August Special

Join in August, Get September for FREE!

Also, check our program guide inside for the latest fall classes, seminars and workshops, including over 20 new classes and almost as many free options that anyone can enjoy - member or non-member!

Thank you to our sponsors of the 6th annual Commit to Get Fit Run, the volunteers who helped out with the event and the participants who joined us to raise awareness for disease prevention.

Kick Start your Summer Fitness

Get Fitter.Firmer.Faster. Boot Camp Style!

Melt unwanted pounds, tone up and energize with our certified personal trainers in our new power-packed boot camps. Each 4-week boot camp features strength, agility and endurance training in an outdoor setting that lets you enjoy the summer weather while sculpting a new you!

Camps fees are $180 for morning and evening sessions or just $105 for a quick lunch hour challenge.

Look for the Commit to Get Fit Run Group and Event now on Facebook. Check out photos from last year's run and join our group. Choose to attend the event to save the date on your home page. Post your own favourite photos and invite friends to join with us to walk or run for disease prevention.

Remember to register for the event before May 24th and get a chance to win great door prizes including tickets to see Rod Stewart in concert, Giselle's gift certificates, athletic wear and more! All ages are welcome and tickets are only $15 for adults and $5 for kids.

Outdoor Wellness Duathlon

Meet with Wellness Institute's Paul Dyck this Thursday, April 30th at Bird's Hill Park to try a short distance duathlon.

For only $5 you can register for the Outdoor Wellness Duathlon and get tips, including how to make the switch from biking to running. The event starts with a 2K run, followed by a 12K bike ride and finished with another 2K run. All levels are welcome. Bring your bike, cycling gear (including helmet), running shoes, water bottle and weather appropriate clothes.

Keep well and enjoy the warmer weather by participating in this and other upcoming Outdoor Wellness events! Registration is available online, at the Wellness Institute front desk or by calling 632-3900.

Student Summer Pass

Keep in shape while school's out.

For students 16 years of age and older, the Wellness Institute offers two options that each provide summer-time access to the facility, equipment and Exercise Schedule classes.

Designed to provide an affordable fitness option for months when the school gym and programs are not available, the University Student Pass and High School Student Pass do not require an enrollment fee.

More Time to Commit

The Early Registration deadline for the COMMIT TO GET FIT RUN/walk has been extended!

Now you can register on your own or with your team on or before Friday, May 1st and get your free t-shirt. At only $15 per adult ($12 for MRA Members) and $5 for children, it is an affordable way to support the cause of disease prevention in our community.
